Echeveria is a group of approximately 150 species in the Crassulaceae family. Many hundreds of hybrids are now in existence. They are especially attractive rosette- forming plants native to Mexico and Central America. These lovely plants can withstand long periods of drought and most will tolerate some shade and even light frost. All bear an inflorescense of brightly colored flowers ranging from red to yellow. They do best with regular deep watering during the summer, and little or none during the winter. Echeverias
